Work vest of striped cotton with applied sashiko
reinforcement and button closing |
Constructed of brown stripe cotton of the sort used for
older men's kimono, this vest is lined with medium indigo cotton. Across the front
and over the shoulder is applied a strip of light indigo cotton with sashiko reinforcement
in a lozenge pattern, the two sections joined with three loops for three dark blue buttons
of an early plastic material. |
The vest measures about 18 1/2" wide and 32"
from shoulder to bottom edge. The sashiko is worn as visible, and ties are present. |
