Shrine with torii gates in water
Kyoto hanga-in print by unidentified artist
Impressionism and other features of western art have influenced this print, which shows a shrine gate in the water; the red maple leaves pick up its red, and a deer grazes at the water's edge.  Such prints were especially popular in the 1950s and were popular with visitors to Japan.
A bright but well-colored print in good condition.  Image area 15 3/8" x 11" on uncut 16" x 11 1/2" sheet (partial view shown -- title/signature image below), probably c. 1950.
