Yamada Mitsuzo, Guardian figure
A woodblock print in the Indian style of a lively guardian figure.  He seems to hold a sword above his head, and be elevated among clouds in a position of exuberant defense.
The image is printed in black ink on buff Japanese paper with deckle edge; image area is approximately 9 1/4" x 7 5/8" on a 11 7/8" x 9 1/8" sheet; numbered 30/48, signed and dated '76 in pencil in lower margin.  Some slight soil.
