Chinese celadon tea bowl
Northern Sung Dynasty kinuta-style bowl moulded with lotus petal motif around outside; thick, rich glaze and strong crackle.  Old gold lacquer chip repair on rim, and exterior crack mended with two metal staples which do not go through to inside of bowl visible in lower photo; repairs probably of Japanese origin where the bowl was used for tea ceremony.
6 3/8" diameter, 2 3/4" high.
